1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Although this Passage of Scripture predominantly pertains to the Rapture or Resurrection of the Church, I believe we can claim the Victory over sin and disease in our natural lives as well. It is the Will of our Heavenly Father for every believer to be set free from the bondage of sin, healed from the ravages of pain and disease, and delivered from any and all demonic influence in our lives.
Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance are all part of the Victory that Jesus gave His Life for us to have. Accepting one part and leaving the other two parts behind is like receiving the gift of a top of the line computer but refusing to accept the power cord and battery. It looks good, but the function is extremely limited. In my mind, this is foolish to say the least.
Jesus gave us the Power to be overcomers and live Victorious lives here on earth. We don’t have to wait until we die to know Victory. Jesus died for us to have it all NOW, in this life. The Apostle Paul described it in his letter to the Galatians when he wrote, The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering (patience), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
When we understand the complete benefit package available to us by placing our faith in the Cross of Christ, we have full access to the Power of the Holy Spirit, who is able to completely change us. The catch is.....we have to want to be changed and allow Him to make the changes. This is called surrendering to Christ.
When we stop trying to do it all ourselves and allow the Holy Spirit to direct every aspect of our lives, we can live every minute of every day filled with the Fruit of the Spirit. At that point, we are living in total Victory over sin, death, disease, and every other attack of the devil. That should be the goal of every born-again Christian.
If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, you have accepted the Gift of Salvation (the computer). Now, you have the opportunity to also accept the power cord and the battery. You now have the opportunity to get plugged in, powered up, and know the real Victory Christ died for you to have.
This brings us to the question for today: Are you going to walk around carrying a nice computer for everyone to see, or are you going to plug it in, charge the battery, and live in the Victory Jesus died for you to have?
The correct answer to this question will............turn the tide ..............in your life.
Plugged in and powered up! Doreen
