Joel 1:1-3 The Word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel. Hear this, you elders, and give ear, all you inhabitants of the land! Has anything like this happened in your days, Or even in the days of your fathers? Tell your children about it and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

 

It is believed that the Prophesy of Joel was written in approximately 800 B.C. but no one knows for sure the exact year. It is a timeless Prophecy, and it is extremely pertinent to us in the days we now live. Joel begins by calling the elderly and all the people of the land to pay attention and listen to the Word the Lord gave him because he knew it was important!

 

He begins by asking, Has anything like this happened in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?

 

Is this not what we have been hearing in the Church community lately? The world situation has grown worse and worse in the past several decades, and God's people are wondering how much worse it can become before the Lord God Almighty brings judgment. In short, we've not seen anything like this in our lifetime.

 

The plea for repentance is to every generation, and as the Prophet Joel said, Tell your children about it and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

 

The Word of the Lord and His Redemption Plan through the Gospel of Christ is what we are to be passing down from generation to generation. Satan and his world have devoured many of our children and our children's children. We, the elders, must take heed and step up into the place and position the Lord has called us to. 

 

Time is short. Judgment is at hand. The Lord is at work to draw all people to Himself through Salvation. It is God's Will that all be saved. He uses people to do this. He wants to use you. It is your responsibility to share the Gospel of Christ with your children and grandchildren. 

 

Throughout the centuries, the Gospel has been shared in this manner. Now it is our turn, and we must be obedient to God's call on our lives.

 

The Gospel of Christ will..........turn the tide
