Glory, Majesty, and Power

Habakkuk 3:4-6 And His Brightness was as the light; He had horns coming out of His Hand: and there was the hiding of His Power. Before Him went the pestilence, and burning coals went forth at His Feet. He stood, and measured the Earth. He beheld, and drove asunder the nations; and the everlasting mountains were scattered, the perpetual hills did bow; His Ways are everlasting.

This powerful Passage of Scripture describes the Glory, Majesty, and Power of God. In Habakkuk's Vision, God was so bright that a mortal being could not look upon Him. It would be like looking straight at the sun, only brighter. The Power in His Hands is magnificent. God's Power cannot be measured or even imagined by the human mind.

The Earth and everything in it is His Creation. He stands back and watches as He continually measures the Earth.  He is in control of all weather patterns and everything that plagues and/or blesses the entire earth and all the people. He causes the wind to blow, the rain to fall, and the storms to form. He causes the land to dry up in drought and disease, and pestilence to plague the land. Likewise, God causes all things to grow, animals to reproduce, rain to water the fields, the wind to gently blow, and dew to form in the early morning hours. God causes His Creation to be exactly what He wants.

God also has continually brought judgment to the Earth, but the greatest judgment will be at the time of the Great Tribulation. Jesus talked about this in Matthew 24:21, For then there will be Great Tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

We serve an awesome, all-powerful God. His Creation obeys Him. The mountains will be scattered, and hills will bow to Him. Jesus said in Luke 19:40 I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.

All of God's Creation is obedient to Him except mankind. The leaves on the trees turn color in the autumn and fall to the ground when God says the time is right. No man can make this happen. The sun rises every morning and sets every evening, precisely on time. How do certain birds know when to migrate south for the winter? What causes a tiny seed to sprout and grow?

The questions are endless, but the answers are all the same. All of Creation is obedient to God. That is, all except us. God created people with free will to obey or disobey. Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, we are all born with a sin nature. It is natural for people to disobey God. Due to the disobedience of mankind, God brings well-deserved judgment; wrath.

The Great Apostle Paul writes of this in his letter to the Romans. For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse,  because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Professing to be wise, they became fools,  and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (Romans 1:18-25)

Every person is without excuse. God has revealed Himself through His Creation. The Last Day is upon us. Today is the Day of Salvation. Jesus sent His Only Son so we can be saved from wrath. Repent! Turn back to God and give your life to Christ, who gave His Life on the Cross for you. Give Him glory! For He alone is worthy to be praised!

God alone can..........turn the tide
