Zechariah 13:1 In that day there shall be a fountain opened to the House of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness.
The Prophesy brought forth by Zechariah is phenomenal. It speaks to the coming Kingdom Age when Christ shall return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. At that time, every Jew who is alive will absolutely accept Jesus as the Messiah. They will know that it was He they put to death on the Cross all those many years ago. Everyone will accept Him as their Savior and Lord, and the “fountain” that has been opened to all people since Christ walked this earth will then be opened to them and they will be forgiven of their sins and accepted into the Kingdom of God.
As born-again believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we already know of this fountain as the fountain of living water that washes away sin. Jesus speaks of this fountain in John 4:13-14 Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again; But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give to him shall be in him a well of water springing up into Everlasting Life.
This is the essence of our relationship with Jesus Christ. He wants to wash away all our sin and set us free from any and all bondage of sin. He has already done this. It happened 2,000 years ago on the Cross of Calvary when He became the final Sacrifice for whosoever will come and drink of this water.
This is the Believer’s Benefit of the Fountain. It never stops flowing. The well never goes dry. There is no reason for the Believer to ever thirst or want for anything. As children of God, we are partakers of all that God has. The Bible says we are joint heirs with the Son.
This opens the door to still another Benefit that we will discuss tomorrow, but for today, let’s just sit at the Fountain and let the Living Water flood our soul. Be saved. Be healed. Be delivered. Whatever you need, it’s there for you. Go to the Fountain and get in. You will never thirst again.
