Jude 14-15 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
In this Passage of Scripture, we see where the Holy Spirit chooses to use the word “ungodly” four times in a single sentence. When God repeats Himself, we need to pay attention.
The false teachers in the church today are ungodly. Everything about them is ungodly. As Enoch prophesied, there will be ungodly people inside the Church. They are not believers, but ungodly in nature and motivation. Their deeds and the words they speak are ungodly. The way in which they operate is also ungodly.
The Word of God tells us to identify the fruit of the tree. A good tree bears good fruit. Godly people do not speak in an ungodly manner, and they do not do ungodly things in an ungodly way. This would be bad fruit, indicating the tree is a bad tree.
We must be careful to watch and listen to the people who enter our fellowship. Seek discernment of the spirits ministering to them. Ask the Lord to show you the motivation of their heart because, Out of the heart the mouth speaks.
Jude concludes his description in Verse 16. These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.
Beware of those who grumble and complain all the time. These people never seem to find joy or happiness because the Joy of the Lord is not within them. The Apostle Paul said, Be content in all circumstances. He also wrote, Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
James wrote, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
The final phrase of Verse 16 is very important. Jude writes, and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. People who talk a lot and use flattery for their own personal gain are among the ungodly, false teachers. God loves a humble spirit but hates pride. When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
In these last of the Last Days, we must be watchful and discerning of those who enter into our fellowship. The ungodly ones are led by the devil and seek only to kill, steal and destroy the Kingdom of God.
Please God, come quickly and…..…..turn the tide
Ever watchful, Doreen
