Godly Wisdom

1 Corinthians 2:1-5 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of Power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the Power of God.

One of the greatest and most powerful of all the Benefits in the Believer’s Benefit Package is that of the Wisdom of God. The great Apostle Paul writes of this Wisdom in his first letter to the Corinthians. He opens the second chapter, attempting to explain the difference between human wisdom and the demonstration of the Spirit and of Power that is available to us when we place our faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

Verse 2 reads: For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. In this single sentence, Paul presents to us the goal for our thought process. We are to be determined to not know ANYTHING except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

Many people, including some Christians, try to separate Jesus from the Cross of Crucifixion, but that is a big mistake. Jesus lived on earth to die on the Cross. The circumstances of His Birth, His Ministry on earth, and His Resurrection all proved that He was the Messiah, but to be the final Sacrificial Lamb of God was His Purpose of living as a man. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Every Blessing and Benefit of God for the believer comes to us by way of Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. There is no other source of anything from God for us. This is the Message of the Cross.

Let us be determined to not know anything except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. This was the Apostle Paul’s determination and the Lord blessed him with great Wisdom through the Power of the Holy Spirit.

Recently, we discussed the wonderful, lush, green Pasture of Plenty where Jesus stands on His Nail Scarred Feet as the Gate. With Nail Scarred Hands, He will open the Gate for whosoever believes in Him and seeks entrance.

The Holy Spirit of God will lead us into all Truth and Wisdom when we become determined to set aside all human wisdom and know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him Crucified.

The Message of the Cross will..........turn the tide  …......in your life.

Determined,      Doreen
