Matthew 11:20 Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent:
Repentance is the way to all blessings from God. Jesus traveled during His Ministry on earth and performed miracle after miracle, and yet the people refused to repent and turn to Him. Is this not a picture of America?
God has blessed America over and over again. We have seen great miracles, signs, and wonders, and yet as of today, as a nation, we refuse to repent. God has proven Himself time and time again to Americans. Is anyone watching? Is anyone listening?
Many Christians today do not believe in signs from God but are ardent students of history. Why do we study history? Because history is prophetic; it repeats itself. I believe it’s foolish to pick and choose what parts of history we want to study and accept as prophetic.
The following is recorded in the Book of Matthew of what happened to some cities that refused to repent: Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day. But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.” (Matthew 11:20-24)
Mighty works have been done by God in America, but how are we responding? God’s call has ALWAYS been for repentance. Please God, grant us the gift of repentance and let the people of America take heed and be obedient.
Please God…….turn the tide
