2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, I will forgive their sins and heal their land.
Today is July 14th. Written numerically: 7:14. Whenever I hear the numbers 7/14 it reminds me of this most powerful verse in 2 Chronicles, which is God’s Prescription for ALL spiritual sickness.
For the past couple of days we have been discussing the importance of personally decreasing so the Lord can increase within us. This is the definition of humility. Until the believer humbles themselves, begins to earnestly pray seeking the Face of God, and repents (turn from their wicked ways) they will witness very little Power of God in their life.
God’s Message does not change. God does not change. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever. On that we can firmly stand. The Words He spoke to Solomon 1,000 years before the Birth of Christ still stand today, some 3,000 years later.
Man’s problem is sin, which is caused by the sin nature and Satan’s influence in our lives. We cannot overcome this on our own. All the will power in the world will never defeat sin or Satan. The remedy lies in God’s Word, and we find the Prescription of Spiritual Wellness in 2 Chronicles 7:14 If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from Heaven, I will forgive their sins and heal their land.
Most medicine is not easy to take. Pills are hard to swallow and get stuck in your throat. Liquid medicine tastes horrible. Shots hurt as the needle is plunged into your flesh. Topical ointments can burn like fire when applied to an open wound. Due to the pain, we must be put to sleep before undergoing surgery. Physical therapy is extremely painful and taxing to the human body. The fact is, medical treatment is painful.
God’s Prescription for Spiritual sickness is not easy to take either. To declare yourself the least, weak, and powerless is not a simple task; it hurts. To seek the Face of God and His Power over our own ability is not natural. To admit we are a sinner, ask God for forgiveness, and turn from our wicked ways is not something easily accomplished.
However, that is God’s Prescription for spiritual wellness. Whatever it is you are suffering with, 2 Chronicles 7:14 is the Prescription for your Healing. God wants to heal you and your land; all of you; spirit, soul, and body. He also wants to heal your family, personal relationships, job situation, financial predicament, and every other problem in your life. He can do it when we take the Medicine, let Him perform surgery on us, and undergo His Therapy.
