Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
In Chapters 3, 4, and 5 of the Book of Acts we find where the Holy Spirit of God worked mightily in the lives of people through other people. The Holy Spirit is God. He is the Third Person of the Godhead and He is 100% God. He is the Power Source of the Godhead. He does the Work which is whatever God tells Him to do.
The Holy Spirit dwells in the spirit of every true born-again believer in Christ. He is our Teacher, Counselor, and Guide through this life. He also convicts us of our sin, bringing to our attention what we are doing that is unpleasing to our Heavenly Father. He reminds us of what Jesus did and what Jesus said. Therefore, we would be well advised to listen to the Voice of the Holy Spirit and adhere to His leading.
In the 3rd Chapter of the Book of Acts, we find where the Holy Spirit used Peter and John to bring about healing to the crippled man at the Gate of the Temple. Peter heard the Voice of the Holy Spirit inside him and he spoke to the man bringing about healing to his physical body. Consequently, he was born again! Then Peter said, “Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the Temple with them—walking, leaping, and praising God. (Acts 3:6-8)
In the 4th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we find where the Holy Spirit moved upon the heart of a Levite named Barnabas to sell his land, move from Cyprus to Jerusalem, give the money to the Apostles, and join them in the furtherance of the Kingdom of God. Barnabas obeyed the leading of the Holy Spirit and did exactly that. He did not bring attention to himself but rather came as a servant giving all he had to the Church. The result of his obedience was a lifetime of Blessing as he went on to travel with the Apostle Paul for many years planting churches and seeing thousands saved and born again. This was all the work of the Holy Spirit in the live of Barnabas. And Joseph, who was also named Barnabas by the Apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the Apostles’ feet. (Acts 4:36-37)
In the 5th Chapter of Book of Acts, we find a married couple (Ananias and Sapphria) who schemed in their hearts to sell some of their land and give part of the proceeds to the Church. Their motive was to gain position in the Church because of their donation. Peter quickly discerned the evil in their hearts and called them out. They had the chance to repent, but they refused. The result was not good. But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last………Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. And Peter answered her, “Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?” She said, “Yes, for so much.” Then Peter sai to hr, “How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.” Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breather her last. (Acts 5:3-5; 7-10)
In these three cases, we find the Work of the Holy Spirit to Guide, bring Discernment, Conviction, Faith, Healing, Life, Blessing, and Death. This is all done by the same, one and only, Holy Spirit of God. He is the Work Force of God. We would be well advised to listen and obey His Voice. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Romans 8:14)
The Holy Spirit will……….turn the tide……….in your life.
