Titus 2:11-14 For the Grace of God that brings Salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the Blessed Hope and Glorious Appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.
Grace, as we know it today, comes to us only through our faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross. Jesus shed His Perfect Blood on the Cross of Calvary so that we may know the Grace of God in a greater way because the Sacrifice Jesus made took away our sins.
Since sin separates us from God, the Cross of Christ Atoned for all sin allowing us full access to God the Father. This is why the Cross of Christ is so important. Without it, we would be lost, dying, and headed for eternity in Hell.
Grace is also the Power of God to enable us to live Righteous lives. Paul’s Letter to Titus speaks to this subject. For the Grace of God that brings Salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the Blessed Hope and Glorious Appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Titus 2:11-14)
Only by the Grace of God are we able to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts, and live soberly, and righteously. We understand that the Holy Spirit of God is our Helper in all this but it is by the Grace of God that we have the Helper living inside us. However, if it weren’t for the Cross of Christ we wouldn’t be Saved. Nor would we have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside us to do all these things.
In short, it all goes back to the Cross. Without faith in the Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary, we would be without all the Benefits of Salvation, Justification, and Sanctification. It all comes to us by way of our faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified. That faith unlocks the Grace of God which is both the Favor of God and the Power of God in our lives.
There is no limit to the Grace of God. It is far more than one definition. Never limit God’s Grace to one thing because as we read and study you will discover just how multi-faceted the Grace of God really is.
The Grace of God will……….turn the tide……….in your life!
Grace, Grace. God’s Grace. Doreen
