Grafted In

Romans 11:19-20 You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.

For the past several months, we have been taking a hard look at God’s Plan for His Church. Due to this in-depth study, I would venture to say that the Church today is in bad shape; very bad shape. Many Christians today do not believe the Words in the Old Testament pertain to us today, but they are wrong. Everything in the Word of God pertains to all of God’s people which includes Israel (God’s chosen people) and the New Testament Church (born-again believers in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified).

The Apostle Paul wrote to the Roman Church on this subject and explained to them that while they may not be Jewish born, they are God’s people because they have been grafted in. (Romans 11:19) In this teaching, the Holy Spirit of God through Paul, compares Jesus and His people to an olive tree.

He explains that Jesus is the Root of the tree and His people are the branches. The Root is the source of all Life in the tree meaning that Jesus is the ONLY source of Life in people. Remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. (Romans 11:18)

Many (if not most) of the Jews reject Christ making them broken off branches. In their place, God has grafted in those who are not born one of God’s people, but have chosen to believe in His Son, the Messiah, as Savior and Lord. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and the fatness of the olive tree. (Romans 11:17)

The Jews are still God’s chosen people and Israel is still God’s chosen land. One day they will all proclaim Jesus Christ as the Messiah but until that day, we, the grafted in branches, must remain faithful to the Word of God and to the building of the Kingdom of God.

In the days to come, many Jews will come to the knowledge of the Truth and accept Christ as their Savior and Lord. For most, this will not happen until after the Rapture of the Church. During the Great Tribulation, they will turn to the Lord in droves as will people from all nations around the world. After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the Throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the Throne, and to the Lamb!” (Revelation 7:9-10)

My friends, this is why we stand with Israel. While we do not agree with the religious rituals of the Jewish people, they remain God’s chosen people of whom we are grafted in. In addition, we remember the Words of the Lord, I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you. (Genesis 12:3)

This is why we fly the flag of the Nation of Israel at the entrance to Betts Ministries in Caney, Oklahoma. This ministry stands with Israel and prays for the people of the Nation of Israel every day. We pray that they come to the knowledge of the Truth of the Gospel of Christ. Many have come. More are coming every day. May the Holy Spirit of God draw them close to Him as the Day of our Lord approaches.

Only God can……….turn the tide

Blessed to be grafted in,          Doreen
