He Is All We Need

Acts 4:15-16 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the Council, they conferred among themselves, saying, What shall we do to these men? For that indeed a notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all them who dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.

Peter and John had ministered healing to a lame man and preached to a huge crowd of people on the porch of the Temple where they saw well over 5,000 come to belief in Jesus. The next day they preached the same Message to the High Priest and all the dignitaries in court. Only by Divine Boldness and Courage were they able to do this, but what would happen to them now? How would the Council of the court respond?

The Council had heard the sermon brought by Peter and John. The healed man stood beside Peter and John as evidence. The Council knew what had happened, and they were in a quandary as to what to do with them. They also knew the people were agreeing with Peter and John, and to jail them or have them killed would surely cause a riot in Jerusalem.

The people were now sharing the story among themselves, and the Gospel was spreading like wildfire. What was the Council to do? They were about to lose their power and position, and they knew it. How could they stop this move? The fact is, they couldn’t, and they knew that too.

When the Gospel is preached in Courage and Boldness of the Holy Spirit, there is no stopping it. When Preachers, Teachers, and believers back down to the government, the Gospel of Christ is stifled. That is exactly what we have seen happen in America over the past several decades. We have allowed unbelievers and the government to dictate what we preach, and we have watched a great falling away and weakening of the Church because of it.

It’s time for the Church and every believer to take a lesson from Peter and John. Stand up and don’t back down. Take up the Benefit of Boldness and Courage and speak the Truth of the Gospel of Christ no matter the consequences.

America has always been about standing for Freedom. Patrick Henry said, “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party.” Christianity has always been about standing for the Gospel of Christ. Therefore, let us now say, “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the Gospel.” That’s all we need. Let it be all we want.

The Gospel of Christ will..........turn the tide
