He Is Greater

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

The spiritual world is known as the Heavenlies and consists of two Kingdoms: The Kingdom of Darkness (ruled by Satan) and the Kingdom of Light (ruled by Jesus Christ). EVERYONE is a citizen of one or the other. Due to the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden, we are all born with the sin nature and into the Kingdom of Darkness.

We remain citizens of the Kingdom of Darkness until we hear the Gospel of Christ, are Saved, and are born again. At this time our citizenship is transferred from the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of Light.

Some of you have asked how these Kingdoms came about. The Kingdom of Darkness came about when Lucifer was banished from Heaven by God. This occurred before God created the earth and Adam and Eve. You can read all about it in the 28th Chapter of Ezekiel. At that time, one-third of the Angels sided with Lucifer and went with him. They too were banished from Heaven. It is Lucifer and his fallen angels that rule over the Kingdom of Darkness.

Jesus was sent by God to bring Light to the dark world. He said, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Jesus established the Kingdom of Light here on earth. Faith in Him is the only way out of the Kingdom of Darkness.

For the thirty-three years, Jesus walked this earth, He was a demonstration of life in the Kingdom of Light. He was (and is) our example for living in the Kingdom of Light. He was in constant communication with His Father Who led Him in every aspect of His life. Jesus did not do or say anything that the Father did not tell him. He was able to do this because Jesus did not have a sin nature like we do. While He had an earthly mother (Mary) His “father” was the Holy Spirit of God making Him Perfect and without sin.

Jesus was 100% human and 100% God. We are not. We are 100% human born into the Kingdom of Darkness, saved by the Grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, and transported into the Kingdom of Light. BUT, we still struggle with sin because the sin nature is still within us. This is the spiritual war that rages within us on a daily basis. Paul said it like this: For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

Satan sends his demonic spirits to rob us of our joy. He would love for us to turn our backs on Jesus and leave the Kingdom of Light but when we understand all that Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary, we can stand against his evil intentions, threats, and attacks.

When we get Saved by faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit of God comes to dwell within us and we know that Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. (1 John 4:4) Hallelujah!

Jesus went to the Cross to……….turn the tide

Hallelujah! Doreen
