Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

God’s Order for all Christian relationships, including and especially for the institution of marriage, begins with mutual love, respect, and the ability to submit to each other. The Apostle Paul wrote that submitting to each other should be out of reverence for Christ. The King James Version says it like this: Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

King Solomon (the wisest man to live other than Jesus) wrote about the fear of God. My son, if you receive My Words, and treasure My Commands within you, so that you incline your ear to Wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the Knowledge of God. (Proverbs 2:5)

This is a powerful Passage of Scripture for daily living. God wants us to not just read, but RECEIVE His Word and treasure His Commandments. He wants us to listen for Wisdom and open our hearts to understand it. He expects us to cry out for greater discernment and understanding of His Word. Then, He puts forth this tremendous Promise:  IF you seek all this as if you are seeking a hidden treasure, THEN you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the Knowledge of God!

The Knowledge of God is what every believer should be seeking with all their heart. There is nothing more valuable than the Knowledge of God, which includes God’s Plan and Order for His entire universe, including marriage and other relationships. This Knowledge is all right there in your Bible. All you have to do is pick it up and start reading it.

With access to the Internet today, there is no excuse for anyone not know what God’s Order and Plan is on any subject. I like to use the website: www.openbible.info  This site allows you to enter a topic or subject, and it will bring up every Passage of Scripture that is relevant.

If we have sincere reverence for Christ and a healthy respect and fear of God, we will not be prideful and selfish. One cannot submit to their spouse and respect them if they consider themselves to be better. This is pride and displays no reverence for Christ, fear of God, or knowledge of God’s Word.

God’s Order for all relationships between believers (including marriage) is readily available and easily found. How we treat our spouse is a direct reflection of how well we understand God’s Plan and Order for His universe.

Seek God’s Plan and Order like a hidden treasure. It will turn the tide in your life as God keeps His Promise to give you greater understanding of the fear of the Lord, a greater reverence for Christ and teaches you the Knowledge of God.

This is what will.........turn the tide
