John 14:17 the Spirit of Truth, the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
The Holy Spirit has always existed and has operated as the Helper. However, prior to Jesus going to the Cross, the Holy Spirit Helped by visiting people occasionally with Words of Prophesy and Guidance. At that time the Holy Spirit dwelt WITH believers. Since Calvary, He dwells IN believers.
Jesus explained this when He said, “If you love Me, keep My Commandments. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:15-18)
Before Jesus paid the sin debt at the Cross of Calvary, sin was only COVERED; not taken away. This was accomplished by the daily animal sacrifices made at the Temple. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins. (Hebrews 10:4)
Jesus came to be the Lamb of God, the Final Blood Sacrifice for all sin. His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary TOOK AWAY our sin. The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)
The Holy Spirit cannot occupy a sinful being. After Jesus paid the sin debt, believers became the Temple of God where the Holy Spirit can and does reside. Do you not know that you are the Temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
The moment we are truly Saved and born-again our body becomes the Temple of God, cleansed from all sin, and pure, suitable for the Holy Spirit to dwell. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. (John 14:16)
My friends, this is the Good News of the Gospel of Christ. When we place our faith solely in the Finished Work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary, the Holy Spirit will take up residence in our being. We then have the Spirit of God living inside us continuously and FOREVER. We don’t have to go to church or to a certain place to be in His Presence. Do you not know that you are the Temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16)
Do you not know this? I pray you do.
The Power of the Holy Spirit will……….turn the tide
Thank you Jesus, Doreen
