Hold Fast To Christ

Habakkuk 2:4-5 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his Faith. Yes also, because he transgresses by wine, he is a proud man, neither keeps at home, who enlarges his desire as Hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers unto him all nations, and heaps unto him all people.

Habakkuk spent the entire first Chapter of his Book complaining to God about the sinful situation of the world at that time, which was 626 B.C. Then, in the second Chapter, God begins to show him a Vision, and God told Habakkuk to write it down on stone because it was for a later time.

As we look at Habakkuk’s description of the world situation at that time, we cannot help but compare it to what is happening around the world today. Sins of all types were everywhere. God’s people were wicked, and He would use those who were more wicked against them. The enemy was seeking to destroy God’s people and all people, for that matter.

I can’t help but compare this to the Jewish community and the Church today (God’s people) and how God is allowing the Nation of Islam to terrorize the world.

As the Vision unfolds to Habakkuk, God begins by further describing the character of the people. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his Faith. Yes also, because he transgresses by wine, he is a proud man, neither keeps at home, who enlarges his desire as Hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathers unto him all nations, and heaps unto him all people.

While He does mention that there are some who are just and shall live by Faith, the majority are suffering with pride, alcoholism and addiction. He goes on to say that they are not satisfied in their own homes but venture out seeking pleasure. Their desires are from Satan and will result in death and destruction. They seek to control great numbers of people and even entire nations.

Just as Satan is never satisfied with the number of people he conquers, these people are not either. They enlist others into their evil schemes and watch as their numbers grow and the size of the Church diminishes. As we read this, please remember that God told Habakkuk this was for a later time. Verse 3: For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

We must be ever aware of the End Times Prophesies and guard ourselves to not get caught up in Satan’s trap. He prowls around seeking to destroy God’s people. We are to live by Faith in Jesus Christ. When we fix our eyes on the Prize, God will see us through.

Do not be distracted, my friends, by the world around you. Satan is the prince of the world, and he rules it and all its evil activities. Stand fast in your faith. Look upward to the Heavens and give God praise for who He is and what He is doing today and every day. The End is near. Hold fast to your faith in Christ, for the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

God will soon……...turn the tide
