Humility

Philippians 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus.

It is human nature to want God to be all that we personally need. If I am physically sick, I want God to be my Healer. If I am suffering from an addiction, I want God to be my Deliverer. If I am anxious and stressed out, I want God to be my Peace Giver. If I am in financial need, I want God to be my Provider. The list of needs is endless, as is God's ability to supply every need of yours according to His riches in Glory in Christ Jesus. Whatever our need, God is able to bring healing and deliverance to that area of our lives.

Yesterday, we discussed the people at Laodicea and the hot and cold water springs near their village. There was healing properties in the springs if the people would make the effort to go to the spring and get in the water. It was an uphill climb, but well worth their effort.

God is able to provide what we need, but we must go to the Source of that provision and ask. Jesus Christ is the Source of our every need. He made all things available to us through His Sacrifice on the Cross. The same faith that brought us to Salvation will bring us Healing, Deliverance, and Provision. Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)  There are no limitations to this statement. Jesus did not give us a specific list of what we could ask for. He simply said, Ask, and it will be given to you;

How easy is it to ask? For some, not so easy. To ask is to admit you need help. To ask begins with humbling yourself and saying, "God, I need help. I cannot do this on my own." It is the pride in our lives that keeps us from asking for help. God stands ready to provide every need. Jesus accomplished EVERYTHING at the Cross. He shed His Blood so we can be Saved, Healed, and Delivered. His Sacrifice is the Source of every Blessing of God.

Like the people at Laodicea, we must get up out of the pool of lukewarm water and go to the Source of every Blessing. God stands ready to answer, but we must humble ourselves and pray. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God said, If my people, who are called by My Name will humble themselves and pray and seek My Face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

Jesus said virtually the same thing when He said, Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

God is able to supply your every need. All you have to do is humble yourself, admit you are broken and in need, and go to Him in prayer and ask.

God is waiting to........turn the tide

Humbly asking,      Doreen
