1 Corinthians 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
Why do Christians stick their heads through the fence in search of greener grass when the Lord God has provided a Pasture of Plenty filled with so many Benefits they can’t count them?
The Apostle Paul addresses this issue in his first letter to the Corinthians. To be content in God’s Pasture of Plenty, we must receive the Spirit of God and reject the spirit of the world. It’s a choice we each have to make, and the Lord has placed within every person the free will to choose. Life is an ongoing series of decisions, and with every step, we choose whether or not to stay inside the fence.
The Holy Spirit of God is the Keeper of the Pasture of Plenty. He maintains everything there and continually Guides, Teaches and Counsels all who will seek Him. The moment we are saved, we enter God's Pasture of Plenty through the Gate named Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit. Every Benefit inside is absolutely free if we simply keep our heads inside the fence and receive what the Spirit of God has for us. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
The spirit of the world is controlled by Satan. He makes everything look so appealing, but it’s a trap. The Word of God tells us he is the great imposter and the father of lies. We must pray for greater Discernment of Spirits and listen carefully to the Voice of the Holy Spirit, who will lead us into all Truth and Righteousness while the enemy does his best to lure us outside the fence of God’s Pasture of Plenty.
Jesus spoke to this in Mark 9:42-47 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into Life maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched, where ‘Their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’
And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter Life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched, where ‘Their worm does not die, And the fire is not quenched.’
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell fire, where ‘Their worm does not die And the fire is not quenched.’
When Jesus makes an illustration like this, we would be wise to take heed. Anytime Jesus repeats something three times, it’s important. Please keep in mind that Jesus was not speaking to a group of lost sinners but to His Disciples when they were gathered together in Peter’s house.
God takes very seriously what we touch, where we walk, and what we allow our eyes to see. Some denominations teach that it doesn’t matter what we do once we are saved, but these Words of Jesus tend to bring that doctrine into question.
In my opinion, it’s not worth taking the chance. Stay inside the fence. Keep your hands inside the fence. Keep your feet inside the fence and stop gazing through the fence at the world as it passes by. To those who have ears, let them hear and understand the Truth of the Words of Jesus Christ, God’s Son.
The Truth will..........turn the tide .........in your life.
