Jesus As The Object Of Our Faith

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Yesterday we began a discussion on the object of our faith. We discussed the fact that faith requires an object. We don’t just have faith without having faith in something or someone. All faith must have an object; something our faith is dependent upon.

Some folks carry a coin or another object in their pocket for good luck. Some wear a necklace with a certain charm, pendant, or crystal for protection and provision. That “thing” is the object of their faith because they believe it will do those things for them. This, by the way, is witchcraft and should not be practiced under any circumstances.

Most people have faith in themselves. In fact, we all do. We know what we are capable of and we have faith in that ability to accomplish certain things. Some people place their faith in other people. Little children do this. They have faith in their mother and father to take care of them; provide for them and protect them. The object of their faith is their parents which is normal and acceptable.

As we get older, the object of our faith changes. In most cases, we become dependent on ourselves and we become our own faith object. This is where we start to go wrong because the more faith we have in ourselves the more prideful and arrogant we become. Self becomes our object of faith.

God wants us to place our faith in Him. He sent His Son to die on the Cross of Calvary to set us free from sin and give us authority over all the power of the enemy. Only faith in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified will bring us Victory, Blessings, and Favor because this is God’s Plan for all people. For God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Everything good comes to us through our faith in Christ Crucified. God’s Gift of His Son to us should be the object of our faith in regard to absolutely everything. When we place our faith in the Finished Work of Christ on the Cross of Calvary, the Holy Spirit will go to work in our lives to bring about a total transformation.

This is the Message of the Cross and this is what it means to have Victory in Jesus. Hallelujah!

Faith in Christ Crucified will……….turn the tide……..in your life!

Faith in Christ alone.         Doreen
