Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.

 

Millions of Americans have felt for a long time that America is way off course. What once was the God-fearing leader of the free world has become a ship drifting in troubled waters without a pilot at the helm. We have drifted off course for a long time now, and the storm has caused extensive damage to the ship.

 

Horribly weakened, we were headed for the rocks of sure destruction, but as God said through the Prophet Jeremiah, Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3) America called out to God, and He heard our cry and He answered! Hallelujah!  

 

Have no doubt, God is able to still the raging sea and calm the waters. You rule the raging of the sea; When its waves rise, You still them. (Psalm 89:9) In an instant, He can turn the tide in America and set this great ship back on course. He is able. He is merciful. He is also fair and just. He has allowed us to drift off course because we removed Him from the helm, replacing Him with mere men, money, and the evils of this world. When we did this, He backed off and let us go.

 

Like the Good Father that He is, He watched as we drifted so far off course that even the heathens knew something was really wrong. As parents, we repeatedly tell a small child not to touch the hot stove or they will get burned. After many warnings, eventually, we allow them to touch it. Sure enough, they get burned. Crying out in pain, they ask, Why didn't you warn me? 

 

Today's date is 11/14. Proverbs 11:14 is a word from God for today. The Amplified translation says it like this: Where there is no [wise, intelligent] guidance, the people fall [and go off course like a ship without a helm], But in the abundance of [wise and godly] counselors there is victory. 

 

The only true, wise counsel is the Word of God. God has rescued us from sure destruction. Therefore, let us give Him praise and continue to pray for an abundance of wise and godly people, who are led by the Holy Spirit of God, who is the Divine Counselor, to lead this great ship back on course. With Jesus at the helm, we cannot fail!
