Malachi 1:8 And if you offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if you offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto your Governor; will he be pleased with you, or accept your person? says the Lord of Hosts.

 

God's Words to Malachi get stronger with every verse. His displeasure with His people is evident. They have acted in disobedience to Him. Their sacrifices have been poor and unacceptable, and God is not pleased!

 

In Verse 8, His Righteous Anger is obvious. The Law of Moses demanded that all sacrificial animals be perfect and without blemish. Anything less would be considered evil. A blind, lame or sick animal should have been immediately rejected by the Priest because it was not in keeping with the Law. 

 

To bring His point home, God in effect said, Try paying your Governor less than what is demanded of you and see if he accepts it. In today's world, it would be like owing the IRS $10,000.00 and trying to pay them with three old chickens and a half-dead dog. They would never accept it as payment. That would be a joke!

 

God's Redemption Plan for all mankind is through the Sacrifice of His Only Begotten Son. To be forgiven, redeemed, and set free from death, Hell, and all bondage, one MUST believe ONLY in Jesus Christ and His Sacrifice on the Cross of Calvary. There is no other way. Everything else is a joke!

 

The Scriptures prove this out time and time again. The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! Jesus said to him, (John 1:29) “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.​" (John 14:6)   He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:2) 

 

God made a Way. Jesus is the Way. There is no other way to the Father. There is no other source of Redemption or Blessing. Any other way is unacceptable to God. Any other way is a joke!
