Jesus The Judge

Isaiah 33:22 For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our Lawgiver, the Lord is our King; He will save us.

As we continue with our study of the many Names/Titles of Jesus, we come to one that many people don’t want to recognize. We easily see Jesus as our Savior and Lord of our lives, but few want to view Him as JUDGE. We find Him described as Judge several times throughout the Word of God.

In the following Passage of Scripture, we read the Words of Jesus as He describes Himself to a group of Jews who refused to believe that He was the Messiah.

Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works that these, that you may marvel. For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. For the Father judges no one, but has committed all Judgment to the Son, that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent me has everlasting life, and shall not come into Judgment, but has passed from death into life. Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the Voice of the Son of God; and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself, and has given Him authority to execute Judgment also, because He is the Son of Man. Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His Voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation. I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My Judgment is Righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the Will of the Father who sent me. (John 5:19-30)

Again in the 8th Chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus declares Himself as Judge. And yet if I do judge, My Judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father Who sent Me. (John 8:16)

In the Book of Acts, we again find Jesus described as JUDGE. And He commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is He which was Ordained of God to be the Judge of the living and of the dead. (Acts 10:42)

Paul wrote to young Timothy about Jesus being JUDGE. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, Who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His Kingdom: (2 Timothy 4:1)

In the Book of Revelation, John describes the Vision given to Him by God. In this portion of the Vision, God made it known to John that Jesus was coming back as JUDGE. Now I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in Righteousness He judges and makes war. (Revelation 19:11)

Every born-again Christian will stand before Jesus at the Judgment Seat of Christ. At that time, everyone will be Judged by Jesus, the JUDGE. But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the Judgment Seat of Christ. (Romans 14:11)

Jesus is everything to us. He is our Lord and Savior. He loved us enough to give His Life for us on the Cross of Calvary. He is the Lamb of God but we must we never lose sight of the fact that Jesus has also been Ordained by the Father as JUDGE and Judge He will.

Having a complete understanding of this, I say to you: REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND!

God stands ready to……..….turn the tide

Forgive me Jesus, where I have failed you.         Doreen
