Deuteronomy 16:18-20 You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment. You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. You shall follow what is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
This Passage of Scripture is of great importance in our world today. The Lord God Almighty instructs us to appoint judges and officers of the law within the borders of our country, states, and cities. This also speaks to personal property rights. We not only have the right to protect our land and property, it is our responsibility to do so. You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment.
We are not to pervert justice in any way. To show partiality toward someone for any reason is to pervert justice. To take a bribe is also a perversion of justice because it distorts the picture. You shall not pervert justice; you shall not show partiality, nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous.
When we look at what is happening in our judicial and political systems today, it’s obvious that the Word of God is being ignored. In the past, we have failed to protect our borders, and the government has taken away our right to protect our family and personal property.
This is the basis for our Second Amendment: the right to keep and bear arms. In the early days of American history, it was a law that every household was REQUIRED to have a working firearm and someone living there who knew how to properly use it. It is our duty and responsibility to protect our family and property. God’s Word says so!
...you shall not show partiality, Partiality in the justice system is prevalent today and includes partiality due to race as well as economic and social status. The color of a person’s skin or the amount of their net worth should play no part in our justice system. However, in America today, who you are, what you have, and more importantly, who you know, play a huge part in how justice plays out in your case. This is totally against God’s Word!
...nor take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the righteous. This is a Biblical Truth that got swept under the rug of the justice system a long, long time ago. People have been bribing others for centuries. We see it every day from the Supreme Court all the way down to local government and into our school districts and traffic courts.
It’s quite easy to bribe your way out of a speeding ticket, pay off a school teacher for a better grade, or bribe a school board member to get a job or have the school district's money spent the way you want it. From there, it only gets worse, and what we are witnessing in America today is so outlandish that most people can’t believe what they are reading and watching on the news every night.
It all boils down to this: America was founded on the Principles of God’s Word. In the mid-1960s, the government demanded that the Word of God be closed in our schools. Consequently, we now have a lack of justice, law, and order in our land. There is only one answer. It is the same answer our Founding Fathers sought in the 1700s. The Word of God must once again be the basis for our culture, society, and justice system. All else is falsehood and will lead to further destruction.
The Word of God will……..turn the tide
