Kingdom Citizenship
July 1, 2025, 3:00 AM

1 Corinthians 3:10 According to the Grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it.

Our purpose in life is to worship God and build His Kingdom. His Kingdom consists of people who believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and His Sacrifice on the Cross. Unbelievers have no place in the Kingdom of God.

Every person has citizenship in a particular country. Those of us born in America are Americans, but once we are saved and born again, our most important citizenship is then in the Kingdom of God, and our loyalty must reside there.

As citizens of the Kingdom of God, it is our duty and responsibility to defend it and build it. To build the Kingdom is to increase the population and improve the quality of life for the citizens. The Word of God gives strict instructions on how to go about accomplishing this task.

Jesus said in John 10:10, I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.  To improve the quality of life for the citizens of the Kingdom of God, they must place their faith in Jesus and His Sacrificial Work on the Cross at Calvary. He is the provider of a quality, abundant life.

Huge numbers of people with no quality of life does NOT make a good kingdom. Consider the third-world countries. There are billions of people living there in abject poverty. Many are starving to death every day. Living in filth, they are infested with disease. There is no hope; no joy. They are born, only to die. This is NOT abundant life.  The only hope for them is the Kingdom of God through their faith in Jesus Christ, the Hope of the world.

Here in America, many believe they are citizens of the Kingdom of God because they were born here, where life is good, and they have no needs or wants. This is not the case. Many folks in America have placed their faith in the government and not in Jesus. These people do not belong to the Kingdom of God. They may be Americans, but they are not Kingdom citizens. Contrary to the belief of some, the two are not the same.

Some people believe they are a Christian because of the family they were born into. This, too, is a falsehood. Our relationship with Christ is personal. It has nothing to do with anyone else. No one else can be saved for you or guarantee your citizenship in the Kingdom of God. God made it very simple to do, but we must each do it for ourselves.

Please take the time to consider and pray about where your true loyalties lie. Are your loyalties to your family first? Are you first and most importantly an American citizen or a citizen of the Kingdom of God? If you had to choose today, how would you respond?

Once we get our priorities straight and in alignment with God and His Word, understanding that we are first and foremost a citizen of the Kingdom of God, everything else will fall into place. That is God’s Order for our lives.

At that point, we will know the abundant life Jesus gave His Life on the Cross for us to enjoy. This is the abundant life He spoke of. This is life as a citizen in the Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God will…...…..turn the tide
