Proverbs 12:17 He who speaks truth declares righteousness, But a false witness, deceit.
The Holy Spirit of God is our Counselor and Guide. He will lead us into all Truth as He continually molds us and shapes us into someone the Lord can use in a greater way. This lifelong process is called Sanctification and as we seek to be more like Jesus, the Holy Spirit will reveal to us areas of our lives that need improvement.
On the other hand, the enemy will do everything he can to deceive us and draw us through the fence into his evil, cruel world. While he makes things look good and speaks promises to our ears, Satan is a liar! Jesus described Satan and said there is no truth in him because he is the father of lies. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
The Holy Spirit convicts us of our wrongdoing and says, “Turn from your evil ways.” When we respond in repentance, asking the Lord for forgiveness and seeking true Guidance from the Holy Spirit, God will always grant us our request, and we will find the strength and ability to turn from our evil ways.
Satan was totally defeated at the Cross when Jesus said, “It is finished.” He has no power over the believer other than what we give him, but that does not mean he will stop trying to lure us to the fence and into sin. Every word he speaks is a lie and he constantly infiltrates our thoughts. This is the spiritual battle that continually haunts us.
Our only defense is the Cross of Christ, where Satan was defeated by the Sacrifice of Jesus. Seek the Truth with all your heart. Spend time in prayer with God and listen for the Voice of the Holy Spirit, which is Truth. Reject the lies of the enemy and obey the Voice of God. Jesus said, “My sheep know My Voice.” The closer you are to the Cross, the louder His Voice will be to your ears.
The Voice of God will….....turn the tide…......in your life!
