2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found of Him in Peace, without spot, and blameless.
As we await the Last Day when the Lord returns for us, we have a great work to do. We must, be diligent that you may be found of Him in Peace, without spot, and blameless.
Living the Christian life is an ongoing lifestyle of repentance. At some point, whether at the time of our natural death or at the Rapture of the Church, we will meet Jesus face to face and as this Passage clearly states, when that time comes, we want to be found in total Peace, without spot, and blameless. The ONLY means to live in Peace, without spot, and blameless is to be diligent to repent of any and all wrongdoing.
Repentance must be ongoing in our lives. The sin in our lives robs us of our Peace. This is all the work of the enemy as he seeks only to kill, steal and destroy our faith and right-standing with God.
The word “diligent” means, an ongoing, constant effort to accomplish something. It’s not a “once and forever” accomplishment. Therefore, we must constantly make the effort to be in right-standing with God and the only way to do this is through repentance. That is all God has ever asked of His people.
To admit our sin, ask God to forgive us and turn from that sin, is repentance. Only the Holy Spirit can guide us into right-standing with God as He directs our path of life. We cannot do this on our own.
Therefore, as we live each day waiting for the return of our Lord, let us ever strive to diligently do what the Lord told us in Matthew 6:33, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.
The Lord is faithful in keeping His promises. He will………turn the tide
