Psalm 30:5 For His anger endures but a moment, in His favor is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
While all the joy and laughter of the Christmas festivities engulf the atmosphere, for some, this can be an extremely difficult time of the year. Sad memories of lost loved ones give the enemy the opportunity to come in and rob us of our joy and peace. While others laugh and sing, many are overcome with depression at this time.
Depression is a dark, demonic spirit that can easily become a stronghold if allowed to manifest. A stronghold is any spirit that has a strong hold on our lives. If not dealt with, it will place a powerful grip on the person and literally choke the life out of them.
In his second letter to the people of Corinth, the Apostle Paul addresses how to fight off such evil spirits. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the Knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
This battle takes place in our mind where the enemy implants dark and depressing thoughts. The Holy Spirit of God is far more powerful than any demonic spirit Satan can attack us with, but we must take it upon ourselves to recognize the enemy and take every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
If this is a difficult time for you, I pray this message and prayer will bring Peace and Comfort to your heart.
Lord God, in the Mighty Name of Jesus, I plead His Precious Blood over every person reading this, especially those suffering from the demonic spirit of depression. We understand the battle that rages is spiritual and not carnal. We also understand that the Power of God is far greater than anything Satan can impose upon us.
Therefore, we command all dark spirits to leave and never return. We cast down any argument that tries to exalt itself against the knowledge of God. We take every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and we release the Righteous Spirits of Joy, Peace, and Life to reign supreme within us; body, soul, and spirit.
We give you Praise and Glory for who You are, Lord. We thank you for giving Your Life on the Cross at Calvary for us. We thank you for lifting us up out of the dark pit and setting our feet firmly on the Solid Rock.
Your Word promises that while weeping may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning. Therefore, we claim your Gift of Joy as we sing, Joy to the World, the Lord has come. Let earth receive her King!
The Joy of the Lord Jesus will...........turn the tide
Joyful! Doreen
