2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, truce breakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
In light of the world situation today, the Passages of Scripture describing the End Times become more compelling with every passing day. The world as we know it is changing very rapidly. America has taken on a whole different look in the recent past.
My friends, we are living in perilous times and the description written above is a mirror image of our culture today. Jesus said in Luke 17:26-30 And as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from Heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
Jesus described what the world will be like in the Last Days before He returns for His Bride; the true Body of Christ. We know this event as the Rapture of the Church or the Resurrection of the Church. Both are the same thing and will be the next major event in the history of the world.
We read about what will happen in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the Word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the Voice of an Archangel, and with the Trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
These are Words of Hope and we will all agree that these days, we need a good dose of Hope! The fact is, one way or the other, all who are truly saved and born again by the Blood of Jesus (whether alive or buried) will spend eternity with Him! That is HOPE!
Without Christ, there is no hope of anything. However, He is absolutely EVERYTHING to the believer. He is Hope that never fails. Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures, might have Hope.
In these Last Days be encouraged! We are living in the most exciting time in all of history. We could see Christ return! We could hear the Trumpet sound! We could be a part of the fulfillment of 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17.
Hope in the Lord. He will……..turn the tide
