Lord, Help My Unbelief

Mark 9:24 Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Unbelief is the greatest hindrance to the works of God. Miracles are few and far between in the Kingdom of God today in America because the people simply don’t believe.

In the 9th Chapter of Mark, we read of a man who sought Jesus for the healing and deliverance of his son who was demon-possessed. The demon within the boy caused him to be both deaf and dumb. In addition, the Bible tells us that the demon would tear at him and he would foam at the mouth and gnash his teeth. At times the demon would throw him into fire and water, trying to kill him.

Jesus responded to the boy’s father by saying, If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.

The boy’s father so wanted his child to be healed! There were no doctors and no pharmaceutical drugs to give him. His hope was totally in the Lord. The man believed Jesus could heal his son, and He did!

As the crowd began to gather around Jesus and the demon-possessed boy, the Bible says, He rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him, You dumb and deaf spirit, I charge you, come out of him and enter no more into him.

This is what happened next! And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and came out of him: and he was as one dead; insomuch that many said, he is dead. But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose.

The demon had taken total control of the boy. When Jesus cast the demon out, the boy was left empty and appeared dead, but he was not. When Jesus took the boy by the hand and lifted him up to his feet, he arose, and by the Spirit of God, he was made whole. Praise God!

This is the Ministry of Deliverance by the Power in the Name of Jesus, and it is still available to us today if we will only believe. The boy’s father did believe, and he wanted no unbelief to contaminate his spirit at all. That’s why he said, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

All things are possible to him who believes.  Do you believe? Lord, help our unbelief and cause us to trust you for everything.

Belief will…….turn the tide ........in your life.

Lord, help my unbelief,      Doreen
