Acts 10:36 The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching Peace by Jesus Christ: He is Lord of all:
One of the most common Names/Titles for Jesus is LORD. We find Him referred to by this Name hundreds of times in the Bible. The word lord is defined as someone or something having power, authority, or influence; a master or ruler. With that definition in mind, let’s look at the different uses of the Name/Title LORD given to Jesus in the Word of God.
LORD JESUS: And with great power gave the Apostles witness of the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great Grace was upon them all. (Acts 4:33)
LORD JESUS CHRIST: But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom are all things, and we by Him. (1 Corinthians 8:6)
LORD OF ALL: The Word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching Peace by Jesus Christ: He is Lord of all: (Acts 10:36)
LORD OF GLORY: My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, with partiality. (James 2:1)
LORD OF LORDS: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for He is the Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with Him are called, and chosen, and faithful. (Revelation 17:14)
LORD OF THE SABBATH: And He said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the Sabbath. (Luke 6:5)
LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS: In His days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is His Name whereby He shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. (Jeremiah 23:6)
Keeping all these Names/Titles in mind and the definition of the word lord, we get a greater and more in-depth picture of Who and What Jesus is in our lives. His Name is LORD JESUS CHRIST because He has been given all power, authority, and influence over everything by God the Father. The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His Hand. (John 3:35)
Jesus is indeed LORD of all! Father God gave Him all power, authority, and influence over everything including the Glory of God! He is our Righteousness! Without Him, we have no Righteousness but IN HIM we are the Righteousness of God!
Is Jesus the Lord of your life? Have you given Him all power, authority, and influence of every aspect of your being? He died on the Cross to Redeem you from death, Hell, and the grave. He paid the price for your Salvation and Sanctification. So, I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. (Romans 12:1)
Make Jesus Lord of your life. He will………..turn the tide……….in your world!
Jesus is my Lord. Doreen
