1 Corinthians 1:18 For the Message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God.

 

Yesterday, we discussed the difference between Logos and Rhema. Although both these Greek words are translated to “word” they are different. Logos is the Written Word of God and Rhema is the Divine Utterance of the Holy Spirit of God.

 

All Ministers of the Gospel should seek a Rhema Word from the Lord and use it as the subject of their sermon or teaching. God knows what the people need to hear and He will impart this subject matter to His Ministers. It is their responsibility to seek a Rhema Word and then preach or teach that Rhema Word to whoever is there to hear it.

 

God’s Word will always lead people to a place of decision-making. The Word of God is convicting and it should be taken seriously. When we are convicted of something in our lives, that “something” is sin and the conviction is God's invitation to repent.

 

Sin is the problem. It has always been the problem. Sin is what separates us from God. That’s why God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the Cross. Jesus did this so we can be forgiven of our sins which is what separates us from God, the Father. God loves us so much, He wants us to be Redeemed and He made a Way for that to happen.

 

That Way is through faith in all that Jesus accomplished on the Cross of Calvary. There is no other Way. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father, but by Me. (John 14:6) Our Heavenly Father wants all of us to be with Him. The sin in our lives keeps us separated from Him. The Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary is the ONLY Door to the Father. Through Him, we can be Redeemed in the Eyes of God and accepted into the Kingdom of God.

 

Whatever sin is active in our lives keeps us separated from God, the Father. Whatever it is, Jesus has already defeated it on the Cross 2,000 years ago. The Work has already been done. The enemy was defeated. (Colossians 2:15) The problem is that most people have no idea of all that Jesus accomplished on Crucifixion Day.

 

Until the True Message of the Cross of Christ is preached, people will remain lost, dying, and headed for eternity in Hell. When it is preached, it will bring conviction to the hearts of those who choose to listen. To others, it will sound foolish and they will discard the only Word that can save their soul from a life of misery here on earth and eternity in Hell. For the Message of the Cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the Power of God. (1 Corinthians 1:18)

 

How do you perceive the Message of the Cross? Do you believe it? Do you receive it as the Power of God to Redeem your soul from the pit of Hell and live an Abundant Life here on earth today? Do you? The Message of the Cross will ALWAYS lead the hearer to a place of decision. What do you choose today?
