Never Quit!

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

The Church in Corinth was one of the most powerful throughout the region and area of Paul’s ministry. In the 18th Chapter of the Book of Acts, Luke recounts how it came about. Although he came under great opposition by many, Paul never became weary and gave up. There were people living in Corinth who encouraged and helped Paul and he joined forces with these people to build the Kingdom of God in that city. Paul would later write to the Galatians about the importance of never losing heart and quitting. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9)

As we read the 18th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we find several dramatic turns of events. The situation changes from one sentence to the next as the Holy Spirit orchestrates Divine Appointments for Paul. As soon as he arrives in Corinth, Paul meets Aquila and Priscilla who take him in and allow him to live in their home. They were tent-makers like Paul and they worked together. In addition, Aquila and Priscilla were Jews but quickly came to believe in Jesus and gave their hearts to Him. (Acts 18:1-3)

Silas and Timothy joined Paul in Corinth and together they preached the Message of the Cross in the Corinthian Synagogue but they were quickly rejected. Because of their fierce rejection, Paul stopped preaching in the Synagogue and moved on. (Acts 18:5-6)

He didn’t quit, he just moved on and immediately the Holy Spirit orchestrated another Divine Appointment which caused another door to be opened to his ministry. And he departed from there and entered the house of a certain man named Justus, one who worshiped God, whose house was next door to the synagogue. (Acts 18:7) This man, Justus, lived right next door to the synagogue! He welcomed Paul into his home and allowed Paul to use his house as a place to minister to the people.

Paul could have easily given up and left town, but he didn’t. He simply moved on. He moved from where his Message was rejected to where it would be accepted. Jesus taught this very same lesson to His Disciples. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. (Matthew 10:14)

What a lesson for all of us! You may be rejected by some. In fact, you WILL be rejected by some but that’s okay! Never quit! Keep on preaching and teaching the Message of the Cross of Christ because this is our Commission given to us by Jesus. The Holy Spirit will orchestrate Divine Appointments for you as you remain steadfast in the work placed before you. However, God has Gifted you to minister the Gospel, keep doing it. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. (Galatians 6:9) That’s right! In due season you WILL reap the harvest if you don’t quit!

The Message of the Cross will………..turn the tide……..in this world.

Never quitting!         Doreen
