Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

 

And so we begin another new year. The Year 2026. Today, people all around the world are thinking of things that will be different this year. Everyone wants to be changed from the old and take on new ideas and new habits.

 

God likes things to be new but to change things from old to new, is God's work. In the flesh, we cannot do it. It is the Spirit of God that is able to make things new. ONLY God is able to make the old, new.

 

The Word of God has much to say about new things. He wants us to be made new and He created a new way for that to be a reality. The Lord God said we should walk in newness of life.

 

A quick word search will reveal to us what the Word of God says on the subject. It says He will put a new song in our hearts and make new wine. God can create a new moon, and has for us new mercy for every new day. Hallelujah!

 

The Lord can do a work in us that makes us a new temple with a new name, and new gates. He will anoint us with new oil.  At that point we will have a new heart and a new spirit with new desires. The Word says we will be a new lump; a new creation, a new man with a new life, part of a new priesthood!    

 

That's exciting to me! The new creation we have become has new strength, new power with a new resolve.

 

Jesus gave His life on the Cross so we may walk in this newness of life.  Jesus IS the New Covenant.  He gave us a new commandment and a new doctrine to live by. All this is readily available to whosoever will believe in Him. God is no respecter of persons. Anyone can walk in the newness of life and be made completely new!

 

All you have to do is say yes to Jesus, put down the old man and take up the new. You cannot be both old and new at the same time. You must put down and walk away from, the old, then you too can walk in the newness of life and never look back! 

 

 

The New Covenant will.........turn the tide
