Now Is The Time To Enlist

1 Chronicles 12:21-22 And they helped David against the band of the rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the host. For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God.

Every day, more men joined the Army of David to help him. They came from far and near and were all mighty men of valor. They kept coming until the Army was as large as the host of God. How many was that? We do not know exactly, but we do know it was a great multitude, countless.

That’s what it takes to stand against the enemy: a great multitude of mighty men of valor. Every believer should want to be included in the Army of God.

God draws people to Himself. He does not insist they come. God calls people to serve Him, but He does not make anyone do anything. The Army of God is made up of believers who have willingly enlisted. There is no draft in the Army of God. The Holy Spirit may strongly convict the heart of a person, but He will never force anyone to join up.

During WWII, young men across our great land enlisted in the military to defend our nation and the freedom we enjoy. My dad and his two brothers all three enlisted and served; two in the US Marines and one in the US Army. All three saw combat and all three survived. When the war broke out, there was no question; they enlisted. They were mighty men of valor.

Women worked in the shipyards doing what was then considered to be “man’s work” because it had to be done. People did what they had to do to serve their country.

As in the days of David, the army was made up of many "tribes." Men and women came from every corner of America to serve side by side in the military to defeat the enemy. They talked differently and had different customs, but they were all Americans fighting for the same cause; the cause of Freedom.

This is what the spirit God is looking for today, but who is willing to enlist? I shudder to think where we would be today if it weren't for our fathers, grandfathers, and great-grandfathers who were willing to enlist and go to battle on our behalf.

Unfortunately, many Christians today are sitting comfortably on the back pew of a church somewhere, expecting someone else to do their part. Even the preachers are not willing to go to battle for the Name of Jesus.  In fact, some preachers are inviting the enemy to speak to their congregation from behind their pulpit! Unbelievable!

Where would America be today if Hitler was allowed to speak to Americans from the White House? Jesus addressed these people when He said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the Will of My Father in Heaven.”

What is the Will of the Father in Heaven if it is not to stand for the Name of Jesus and be willing to enlist in the Army of God?  We are at war, and it’s time to enlist. The battle is on. Where are you?

Now is the time. God is about to……..turn the tide
