Luke 6:38 Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.
God cares about you. He loves you and wants to Bless you. Sometimes, God Blesses us and we don’t even know it. When we take the time to look back over our lives, we will find this to be true time and time again. Jesus said, Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. (Luke 6:38)
When the Holy Spirit instructs us to enter into a type of ministry we think God wants to use us to Bless others. He does! However, when we act in obedience to this call on our lives, we will eventually see that while God used it to benefit others, it was for us all along.
An example of this would be Apollos in the 18th Chapter of the Book of Acts. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly. (Acts 18:26) The Holy Spirit led Apollos from Alexandria (his hometown) to Ephesus where he took the stage in the synagogue and told the people about Christ.
He believed his words about Jesus would cause others to believe and give their hearts to the Lord, which they probably did. Apollos did what the Holy Spirit led him to do. He was obedient to God and the people heard the Gospel of Christ out of his mouth. He willingly gave of his time, knowledge, and gifting of eloquent speech just as the Holy Spirit instructed him.
However, as we read on, we find that while God used him to reach others, his obedience resulted in a far greater Blessing for him! Because he obeyed, Aquila and Priscilla heard him speak, took him to their house, and introduced him to the Holy Spirit!
You see, Apollos was obedient to give and it came back to him many times over! This is the meaning of Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. (Luke 6:38)
God doesn’t ask us to do something to make us uncomfortable or hurt us. He wants to Bless us through our obedience. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice. (1 Samuel 15:22)
Behold! Obedience will……….turn the tide……...in your life.
What a lesson! Doreen
