Obey God

Acts 5:29 But Peter and the other Apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

The men who formed America understood the importance of Nature and Nature’s God. Complete understanding of Nature and Nature’s God is found in the Holy Bible. There is no other source. This was the Standard of Truth in the forming of America. What is our standard now?

Sir Winston Blackstone was known to be the authority of English Law and our Founding Fathers looked to him as a mentor in regard to this subject. Blackstone wrote a series of Commentaries on Law that are still respected today.

He wrote in Blackstone Commentaries on Law, Book One, Section Two:  Man, considered as a creature, must necessarily be subject to the laws of his Creator, for he is entirely a dependent being...a state of dependence will inevitably oblige the inferior to take the will of him, on who he depends as the rule of his conduct...And consequently, as man depends absolutely upon his Maker for everything, it is necessary that he should in all points conform to his Maker’s will. This will of his Maker is called the law of nature. This law of nature...dictated by God Himself, is of course superior in obligation to any other. It is binding over all the globe, in all countries, and at all times: no human laws are of any validity if contrary to this… The doctrines thus delivered we call the revealed or divine law, and they are to be found only in the Holy Scriptures…

The Bible was the standard in America. It was the standard of absolute truth and no human law was allowed to stand if it contradicted what God has established. How arrogant can man be if he thinks his mind is sharper than that of the Mind of God?

One of the Signers of our Constitution and one of the first U.S. Supreme Court Justices, James Wilson, made the following statement:  All laws, however, may be arranged in two different classes. 1. Divine. 2. Human  But it should always be remembered that this law, natural or revealed, made for men or for nations, flows from the same Divine source: it is the Law of God… Human law must rest its authority ultimately upon the authority of that law which is Divine.

There are only two types of laws: Divine (God made) and Human (man made).  Which should we follow? The answer to this question is found in Acts 5:29  But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men."

The Bible was the cornerstone of Truth in the United States of America. The more we study the writings and words of our Founding Fathers the more we find the Word of God and the Christian Faith. There can be no denying it.

When Americans discover our TRUE American History we will know who we are as a people. The people who founded our country were very smart and the smartest thing they did was to look to the Holy Scriptures for Truth and invite and allow the Holy Spirit to guide them every step of the way.

We are praying for leadership who searches the Bible for Truth and invites and allows the Holy Spirit to guide their every move and decision. Just imagine what America would look like today if we had that kind of leadership. Do you believe this is something worth praying for? I certainly do. Will you join me?

God is the ONLY WAY. Only God can……..turn the tide

Praying,     Doreen
