Matthew 28:6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
RESURRECTION is the overall theme of the entire Bible. Resurrection means to raise up; bring to life that which is dead.
The first thing most think about when we hear the word “resurrection” is the Resurrection of Christ from the grave on the third day. Without His Resurrection, there would be no Salvation for anyone. His Resurrection means He conquered death, completing His Sacrificial Work on the Cross. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. (Matthew 28:6)
We also think about the Resurrection of the Body of Christ. We commonly refer to this as the Rapture of the Church, which is one and the same thing. When Christ returns for His Bride (the Church), the dead in Christ will rise up out of the grave. They will be resurrected. Also at that time, those who are alive will be taken up to meet Christ in the air. This is the day we are all waiting for with great anticipation. For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
The Salvation experience for every saved person is also a type of Resurrection. In an instant, we are raised up from death to life in Jesus Christ. Prior to Salvation, we are spiritually dead and bound for eternity in Hell. However, once we are born again in Christ, our spirit is raised up, resurrected. Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My Word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24)
Every account in the Old and New Testaments speaks of Resurrection; death brought to life; raised up in Spirit and Truth. God is the bringer of life. Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth an the LIFE. Without Him, there is no Life, only death.
Every believer from the beginning of time has their personal story of resurrection. Once they were dead in sin, but now they are alive in Christ! Once they were lost, but now they are found! Once blind but now they see! Once deaf, but now they hear! Once held captive by the chains of sin and shame, but now they are set free, delivered, resurrected!
This is the theme of the entire Word of God. It is the Will of God for every person to be raised up (resurrected) from sin and death and brought to life through Christ. Only God has the Power to raise the dead.
If you are a born-again Christian, your testimony is a story of your personal resurrection. Take a few minutes to consider how you used to be when you were dead to sin. Every Work of God within you, including your salvation, healing, and deliverance from any form of bondage, is a testimony of God’s Resurrecting Power.
What an awesome God we serve! He can cause the dead to rise up and walk! He can bring life to dry, dead bones. He can change the heart of an evil person. He can cause the Church to rise up in Victory! He can revive a nation! He is able if we are willing.
If we will surrender our lives to Him, He can…...…..turn the tide
Revived and resurrected! Doreen
