Overcomer In Christ

John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.

For the past several days we have been discussing life as a born-again believer in Christ. It is known as the new man or new creation because everything becomes new and different when we are Saved and born again.

Our faith in Christ allows the Holy Spirit of God to dwell inside us and do His Miraculous Work of transformation. The new creation is the continual work of the Holy Spirit within us. God’s plan is for everything of the old man to be gone and everything to become new. Only God can do this.

Jesus was the Overcomer. He defeated sin, death, Hell, the grave, and Satan on the Cross of Calvary. He won the victory for us on the Cross of Calvary. Jesus lived a sin-free life and performed many Miracles but if He hadn’t gone to the Cross no one would be Saved and born again. This is why the Cross is the symbol of Christianity.

Jesus was tempted by Satan but He never fell into sin. His Life is our example. He overcame the world, the flesh, and the Devil and when we keep our faith in Him and His Finished Work on the Cross of Calvary, we can be overcomers as well. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have Peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. (John 16:33)

No one can do this on their own. All the willpower in the world cannot defeat Satan and his demons. This is the Work of the Holy Spirit of God Who dwells within us because of our faith in Christ and Him Crucified.

We must come to the realization that Jesus has ALREADY defeated Satan for us. The battle is over. It was over 2,000 years ago. Jesus accomplished this and won the Victory over sin on the Cross. He was an Overcomer and we can be as well when we place our faith in Him and allow the Holy Spirit of God to do His Work within us. For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the Victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God? (1 John 5:4-5)

Faith in Christ Crucified will……….turn the tide……….in your life.

Overcoming,         Doreen
