Pagan Worship

Ezekiel 9:1 He cried also in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them who have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

We looked at the last verse of Chapter 8 yesterday, but let’s review it again. God said, Therefore will I also deal in fury: My eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.

The next words God spoke is Chapter 9, Verse 1. He cried also in my ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them who have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

It’s almost a shouting match between God and the unrepentant Church. The Vision Ezekiel saw in Chapter 8 was that of a totally apostate Church. With every verse, the Vision got worse. The spirit of jealousy and the worship of pagan gods was prevalent and blocked the view of the Brazen Altar which was the place of Sacrifice, symbolizing Christ.

It seems the people were busy doing all sorts of things and activities but none of them were leading the people to the Altar. Rather, they were a hindrance.  As the Vision became more and more ungodly, the Lord’s anger increased to the point of a loud exchange.

Is this an accurate depiction of the Church today? Unfortunately, I believe it is. The demonic spirit of jealousy is so prevalent in the Church today that it is repulsive. Many of the activities and functions sponsored by the Church today are a far cry from evangelistic and are in fact, the worship of other gods. It’s a very sad picture indeed.

Recently, as the freedom of the people in America has appeared to be at risk, the Church is crying out to God in a loud voice just as the Lord showed Ezekiel in Chapter 8, Verse 18. and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice,

Like spoiled rotten children, the Church is crying to its Father for more when they have used and abused what He has given them already. The Lord God Almighty has provided everything anyone could ever ask for and yet His people take it all for granted and use His Temple for idol worship.

The Church can cry loudly and plead with God for mercy but God will answer back in a loud voice with JUDGMENT!  God’s Mercy is a response to repentance. There comes a time when every father says, “Enough is enough!” Perhaps it’s that time.

Only repentance will……..turn the tide

Praying for repentance,      Doreen
