1 Peter 1:19 but with the Precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
The Feast of Passover was very important to the Israelites and is still celebrated by the Jews today. This celebration required a sacrificial lamb. As we discussed yesterday, each family raised a lamb to be sacrificed every year at Passover. This lamb had to be without spot or blemish. The family kept the lamb in their house like a pet to protect it from getting hurt until the time of the Passover Feast. The blood of the lamb was painted on the doorpost of their home.
This would indicate that they were believers in the Sacrificial System and the death angel would pass over them. There was life-saving blood in the perfect, spot-free, sacrificial lamb.
As born-again believers in Jesus Christ, we know that Jesus fulfilled this Feast. He is our Sacrificial Lamb; the Lamb of God. Knowing that you were not Redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the Precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19)
Jesus was Perfect in every way and without sin. He never sinned in thought, word, or deed. He was the Perfect, Lamb of God and when He went to the Cross, He fulfilled the Passover Feast. For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the Righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
The first Passover was in remembrance of God’s people being released from Egyptian slavery. The Crucifixion of Christ guarantees the Deliverance of every believer from the bondage of sin and death. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His Blood, much more shall we be Saved by Him from the wrath of God. (Romans 5:9)
Jesus did not come to destroy the Law but to fulfill it. Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. (Matthew 5:17) Jesus did fulfill the Feast of Passover. There is no need for any born-again believer in Christ to celebrate the Passover Feast. We feast every day in the shed Blood of the Perfect Lamb of God who willingly sacrificed His Life on our behalf. Hallelujah!
The Blood of the Lamb will……..….turn the tide!
Feasting every day! Doreen
