Psalm 37:4  Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

 

When the born-again believer accepts the Benefit of the Blood of Jesus running in their veins, everything about them begins to change. Nothing can remain the same when we take on our new identity; the identity of Christ.

 

It is a proven fact that when a person receives an organ transplant, they will take on certain personality traits of the person the organ originally belonged to. This may seem weird, but it is true.

 

A few years ago, we had an older woman come here to minister to a group of ladies. This woman had received the heart of a very young woman who had been killed in an auto accident. The young woman who was the heart donor happened to be the granddaughter of one of the women in attendance. 

 

The heart recipient shared how she now not only had much more energy, but she also had different desires. She couldn’t help it, but for the first time in her life she loved to go shopping and buy big, chunky jewelry. She never even wore jewelry before she received her new heart. This was something her young heart donor loved to do. She also now (for the first time in her life) wanted to go to church, and she had a powerful longing to know God in a deeper way. This too was the desire of the young woman who once had the heart that now was beating in this older woman’s chest. It was absolutely amazing! Her new heart had its own desire to seek God!

 

When we accept the Blood of Jesus to run in our veins, we will take on His Characteristics, which are the Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit. Just as the woman I described above now has a passionate longing to seek God, we will have the desire to possess love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.  (Galatians 5:22-23)

 

As the Precious Blood of Jesus flows through our body and into our brain, we will automatically have the desire to possess the Fruit of the Spirit. This is the Power in the Blood of Jesus that washes away all sin and makes everything new! Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4) When you have new Blood, you will have new desires!

 

Praise God for the Blood of Jesus! Believing in who Jesus was is not enough. To be born again, we must take on our new identity in Christ by believing, accepting, and allowing His Blood to run freely in our veins. Hallelujah! What a Benefit! 

 

The Blood of Jesus will……..turn the tide…...in your life.
