2 Chronicles 20:21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers unto the Lord, and that should praise the Beauty of Holiness, as they went out before the army, and say, Praise the Lord; for His Mercy endures forever.
King Jehoshaphat had heard the Word of the Prophet Jahziel that the battle before them was not theirs, but God’s. The Prophet told him they would not have to fight the battle but stand still and watch the Lord work on their behalf. You shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand you still, and see the Salvation of the Lord with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you. (2 Chronicles 20:17)
Jehoshaphat appointed singers to go before the army into battle. They were sent into Praise the Lord and sing of His Beauty of Holiness and Great Mercy that endures forever. They all had faith in what the Lord would do.
What happened next is amazing! When they began to sing, the Lord set ambushes for the enemy, who became so confused they began to kill each other until they were all dead. And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked unto the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped. (2 Chronicles 10:24)
It didn’t end there. God had more for His people. And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering of the spoil, it was so much. (2 Chronicles 20:25)
This all came about because they heard the Word of God through the Prophet and acted in obedience. They praised God in advance for what they knew He would do, and the Lord blessed them with victory over the enemy and great wealth and riches, which provided for them for the remainder of the reign of King Jehoshaphat. There was peace in the land. So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet; for his God gave him rest round about. (2 Chronicles 20:30)
We are at war with the enemy today. America is God’s country, but the enemy is trying to take it for their own. The Body of Christ is seeking Peace in our land. Church, hear the Word of the Lord through the Prophet.
The Word of the Prophet was for the army to set themselves, stand still and watch the Lord work on their behalf. He DID NOT say, hide in your churches and homes and hope God will do something. He said, Be SET in your faith and STAND!
The singers went out before the army, and it was their Praises that caused the Lord to set ambushes and conquer the enemy. God will do the same thing today if His people will go out in the face of the enemy and sing of His Beauty, Holiness, and Mercy that endures forever!
The Word of God will………turn the tide
Praising Him! Doreen
