Exodus 18:17-23 So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good. Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself. Listen now to my voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. And you shall teach them the statutes and the laws, and show them the way in which they must walk and the work they must do. Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens. And let them judge the people at all times. Then it will be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they themselves shall judge. So it will be easier for you, for they will bear the burden with you. If you do this thing, and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all this people will also go to their place in peace.”
The notion that America is not a Christian nation has been brewing for many years now. Promoters of this movement have managed to convince many Americans that God does not have, nor ever has had, any place in our Government. This is absolutely preposterous!
The lack of education in America and the advancement of falsehoods have propelled this mindset and it’s high time we set Americans straight and taught them the truth! One of the foremost arguments on the subject is that God has no place in Civil Government. My friends, God created Civil Government and laid out His Plan for Moses in Exodus 18.
Many who teach this Passage of Scripture include only Verses 21 and 22 but there is much to be learned from the entire Passage. Moses had been appointed the leader of a massive group of people and the advise given him by the Holy Spirit through his father-in-law, defines Civil Government. Verses 17-18 So Moses’ father-in-law said to him, “The thing that you do is not good. Both you and these people who are with you will surely wear yourselves out. For this thing is too much for you; you are not able to perform it by yourself.”
Moses could not do this alone or with a few people. The Scripture clearly states what they were trying to do was not good. It was too much for them and they would wear themselves out. The Holy Spirit (through Moses’ father-in-law) went on to tell Moses exactly what to do, Listen now to My Voice; I will give you counsel, and God will be with you: Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God.
All difficulties among the people were to be taken to God by the leader, Moses. America now has a President who understands this Scripture. Stand before God for the people, so that you may bring the difficulties to God. President Trump is by no means a perfect man but the Lord has touched him and sent many Biblical leaders to stand with him. He is listening and he is learning.
The establishment in Washington DC does not support him because he speaks the truth and has publicly revealed their corruption. Americans are sick and tired of politics as usual and that’s why so many are looking to Donald Trump. Please pray for him and his cabinet members. We need change in America and we must turn back to God if we expect to live in real freedom.
Only God can……..turn the tide
