Prisoner Of Christ Jesus

Ephesians 3:1-3 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles—if indeed you have heard of the Dispensation of the Grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by Revelation He made known to me the Mystery.

For the past several days we have been discussing the Mystery of Christ and the Cross. This Mystery was hidden from humanity until Jesus went to the Cross of Calvary. God kept this Mystery a secret until he revealed it to the Apostle Paul and gave him the assignment of telling the Jews and the Gentiles. The sharing of this Mystery was Paul’s ministry.

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul spelled it out clearly. Many theologians refer to Ephesians as the Crown Prince of Paul’s writings. In the Third Chapter of Ephesians, Paul writes specifically about God’s Mystery now revealed to all people.

Everyone is alive on earth at a specific time for a specific purpose. God used the Apostle Paul to preach and teach about the Mystery of Christ. This was Paul’s Purpose for living and he knew it. He declared himself to be a prisoner of Christ Jesus for the Gentiles. For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles. (Ephesians 3:1)

Paul was actually in prison when he wrote this letter to the Ephesians but he understood that he was really a prisoner of Christ Jesus, not the Romans. Sometimes God will cause us to be somewhere that is not comfortable so He can get our attention and speak to us. Perhaps this is why Paul spent so much time in prison.

God wants to use all of us for a specific purpose. Do you know what His purpose for you is? Whatever it is, you were born with everything you need to do it. Once you surrender to Him and consider yourself a prisoner of Christ Jesus, His plan for your life will begin to unfold right before your eyes and you won’t be able to deny it.

Today is the day of surrender. Give up and let God have you as His prisoner. Be still and listen to what He is saying. Read His Word and seek confirmation. There is nothing more rewarding than to be a prisoner of Christ Jesus. God has something for you to do that only you can do. It is your Divine Assignment. Do you know what it is?

Only God can………..turn the tide ……….in your life!
