Psalms 52

Psalm 52:7 Lo, this is the man who made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

The 52nd Psalm was written by David when Doeg, the Edomite, caused him great harm. Doeg was one of the most evil and treacherous men in all the Bible. He was a liar who falsely accused the High Priest and his family. They were true to David but the words of Doeg resulted in their deaths. Don't ever doubt the strength in wickedness.

The story of Doeg is a Prophecy of the coming Antichrist. The demonic spirit of deception will so control this man that much of the world will be deceived by him. The great Prophet, Daniel, wrote of the Antichrist in Daniel 7:25 and said, “He will speak great words against the Most High.”

As we read through the 52nd Psalm, we see the exact parallel to the Antichrist. No one should be shocked by what the Antichrist brings. The Bible is very clear in its Prophecy. Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually. Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. You love evil more than good, lying rather than speaking Righteousness. Selah

You love all devouring words, you deceitful tongue. God shall likewise destroy you forever. He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah

The Righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, “Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.” But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the Mercy of God forever and ever. I will praise You forever, because You have done it; and in the presence of Your Saints I will wait on Your Name, for it is good. (Psalm 52:1-9)

What a description of faith! We must recognize evil when it is in our midst and rebuke it soundly. The enemy comes to kill, steal and destroy and if we are not alert and watchful, he will rob us blind.

We MUST proclaim the Name of Jesus for it is good! There is Power in His Name, and every Christian should be shouting it from their housetop today and every day as the Day of the Lord draws nearer and nearer.

The Name of Jesus will……..turn the tide
