Ready To Fly

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to Repentance.

A study of Biblical History will result in periods of time, many refer to as “dispensations.” We are currently living in the Dispensation of Grace which began on the Day of Pentecost and will end on the Day of the Rapture. It is the longest of the Dispensations and has lasted some 2,000 years.

We have all heard of the Rapture of the Church and most Christians are in agreement that we are living in the Last, of the Last Days. The Lord will return soon, but some are asking, What is He waiting for?

2 Peter 3:9 gives us the answer to this question,  The Lord is not slack concerning His Promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to Repentance.

The Lord always keeps His Promises and His Promise to return for His Church is forthcoming. For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the Trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the Air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Sold-out Christians who are absolutely assured of their Salvation and eternal destiny are ready for the Lord to return. We hear it said, “I am ready to fly!” Yes, we are ready to hear the Trump of God and be gathered up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. We are praying that it happens soon as we see the world around us become worse and worse and the Church fall deeper into the apostasy we have been discussing for the past several days.

Although God is angry with His people, He remains longsuffering and patient not willing that any should perish and spend eternity in Hell. God wants every person to come to Repentance, accept Him as their Savior and Lord, and spend eternity in Heaven.

This is what God is waiting for, but how long will He wait? That is the question no one knows the answer to. Jesus said in Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the Angels of Heaven, but My Father only.

Only God the Father has the answer to that question but we can rest assured, HE IS COMING BACK!

Perhaps this is when and how He will……turn the tide
