Real Conviction

Acts 19:20 So mighty grew the Word of God and prevailed.

While the Apostle Paul was in Ephesus, he preached the Message of the Cross of Christ. This Message contains Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance from sin. It was (and still is) a continuation of Jesus’ Ministry when He walked this earth. The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has Anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to preach Deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable Year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19)

Jesus suffered a horrible death on the Cross of Calvary for sin. John the Baptist introduced Him as the One Who takes away sin. Behold! The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29) Jesus went to the Cross to TAKE AWAY SIN and He did it! He defeated all the power of Satan in our lives. And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the Cross. Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. (Colossians 2:13-15)

Paul understood this and he preached it to the early Church. Our Victory over sin in our lives lies in our ability to believe in ALL that Jesus accomplished on the Cross. If He died to TAKE SIN AWAY, then why are Christians today struggling with so much sin? The answer to this question is unbelief. They simply do not believe in the COMPLETE Finished Work of Jesus on the Cross of Calvary.

In the 19th Chapter of the Book of Acts, we read that Paul preached this to the believing Ephesians and when he did, they came under great conviction. And many who believed came, and confessed, and showed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: And they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. (Acts 19:18-19)

These people actually brought the sinful things together and had a big bonfire. The stuff amounted to a lot of money; fifty pieces of silver! That would be approximately four million dollars in American money today! In many cases, the people used this stuff to make a living. So, when they brought it to the bonfire, in essence, they burned up their paychecks and their careers. This is real conviction which led to total surrender and real Deliverance!

The result: So mighty grew the Word of God and prevailed. (Acts 19:20)

The complete Message of the Cross will…...….turn the tide……..in this world.
