Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
Christianity is a lifestyle. The majority of the Word of God is devoted to how to live for God; how to conduct your life; how to determine right from wrong, etc. From the Principles found in the Word of God, the American Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and the Laws of our land were formulated.
Life as we know it in America is good because it is based on Principles found in the Holy Bible which is God’s guideline for living a wholesome, productive life where we put God first and love our neighbors as ourselves. When asked, Jesus answered and put it all in a nutshell when He said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
How does Islamic life compare to the Christian lifestyle? Is Islam just a “religion?” That is a good question. Let us look into the answer.
In 2010, after a careful and in depth study of Islam and Sharia Law, Team B2 published a report on the Sharia threat. They made the following statement, It would be a mistake to think of Sharia as a “religious” code in the Western sense because it seeks to regulate all manner of behavior in the secular sphere—economic, social, military, legal and political.
Islamic life is based on the Qur’an. From that book, Sharia Law was established. Muslims have a book called “Reliance of the Traveler” which is their handbook for living. If you are interested, you can purchase a copy on-line. This book contains explicit, detailed instructions for Muslims to follow and addresses every aspect of their lives. Reliance of the Traveler is not something that a few good Muslims put together and published to make some extra money. Nor is it a book only for certain Muslims or a distinct Islamic sect.
On the bottom of the front cover it states, A Classic Manual of Islamic Sacred Law. On the opening pages of Reliance of the Traveler we find the endorsements of the most high Islamic leaders in the entire world today. This book was published and is distributed as the Islamic Handbook (or manual) for living the Muslim life on a daily basis.
Over the next few days we will look at what this book has to say about the Islamic lifestyle and compare it to life in America. Stay tuned because this comparison will get very interesting.
