Luke 11:52 Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in you hindered.
For those of you who think Jesus never rebuked anyone or raised His Voice in anger, read the 11th Chapter of Luke. It was the lawyers (the keepers of the Law) who tried to defeat Jesus, and it is still the same today. Some people are so intent on keeping the religious traditions and the rules of their denomination they never have the opportunity to see God work in their lives or churches.
A word that has surfaced over and over again for the past couple of weeks is “hinder.” Anything that hinders the work of God is of the devil. Anything or anyone that stands in the way of the Holy Spirit is a hindrance to God and is motivated by the enemy.
Any word, activity, or thought process that stands in your way or blocks you from seeking God with all your heart is evil. God wants our undivided attention and devotion. Jesus said, Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
One of the greatest hindrances to seeking the Lord is religion. This may sound like an oxymoron, but it is not. One of the greatest enemies of the Body of Christ has always been the Church itself. Those seeking to fulfill the doctrines of man and the rules and regulations set forth in their denomination are a tremendous hindrance to the Work of the Holy Spirit.
Religion keeps people FROM God. Religion hinders the work of God which is Salvation, Healing, and Deliverance. The “lawyers” Jesus rebuked in His day were ministered to by the same demonic spirit that ministers today to much of the Church.
Jesus’ ministry was to see people saved, healed and delivered. Nothing has changed. His ministry is still the same and if we will put religion aside and seek the Power of the Holy Spirit we will see great Miracles, Signs and Wonders of God.
Religion aside, God will……..turn the tide
Avoiding all hindrances, Doreen
