Renewed Like The Eagle

Psalm 103:5 ....so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

This is a Benefit few born-again Christians will accept. It’s ours for the taking if we will just receive it and walk in it every day.

God promises to renew our youth like the eagle. This does not mean God is going to pay for us to have a facelift! It means our spirit can forever be young and vibrant. Although our physical body may become old and frail, we can remain young at heart.

God uses the eagle as an example because once a year, all eagles cast off all their feathers and receive new ones. Through this process, they continually appear young. They pluck out all their old feathers so their Creator can cause new ones to grow. They do this themselves. Their feathers do not just fall out. Nor do other eagles pluck them out for them. They do it themselves.

This is the example for the born-again believer. God wants us to recognize our "old feathers," pluck them out, and cast them off. THEN He will cause "new feathers" to grow. Until we are willing to undergo this process, we will continue to look like our old selves, think like our old selves, feel like our old selves, and act like our old selves.

God has a Plan for a new self for us. He wants to create in us a clean heart with a fresh new spirit of love, joy, peace, hope, kindness, gentleness, patience, faith, goodness, and self-control.  These are all Benefits in our Believer’s Benefit Package, but until we cast off our “old feathers,” God cannot cause “new feathers” to grow.

This ongoing process in the life of the believer is called sanctification, and it continues until the day God calls us home. God wants to give you "new feathers," but you have to pluck out and cast off the "old feathers" first.

Plucking out your old feathers will..........turn the tide ............in your life.

Plucking,    Doreen
